Before merging this PR, do we know if there is a way to silence these messaging id warnings in the new Clang without telling the compiler to not emit them and without breaking the other two ports? |

This PR changes the .xcconfig files which control the Xcode behaviour - an IDE by Apple to develop on Mac. https://tanaschita.com/xcode-configuration-files/ As we have lost Mac support since there are no developers around for that platform, this PR is not reasonable to merge these days. |

Agreed, also if we support Mac in future, the XCode project would be generated from Meson or CMake so any settings would go in the corresponding configuration file not directly in XCode. |
