Lemans (QCS9075) GPU random crashes VPU always with Iris

I have a Lemans based board (Radxa Airbox Q900) and made my own devicetree which works with the 6.18.y branch. I have observed the following unwanted behavior which leads to system crashes @lumag :

GPU crashes out of the blue while it’s running seemingly fine (under Debian Trixie with Mesa 25.2 from backports):

VPU crashes everytime when invoked:

For firmware it is using the latest from linux-firmware.

This error indicates that you are trying to run a usecase which is not supported.

Could you pls share what usecase you are trying to run here?

I used Chromium from Debian Trixie and enabled Wayland + V4L2 like I did with QCS6490+Venus (that is working). Under chrome://gpu I can also see it list H264 and AV1 as supported decoding formats but playback of H264 or AV1 content leads to the error.

These are the additional chromium flags I have enabled:

# Use ozone wayland for vpu decoding

# Enable V4L2 decoding and  NV12 direct rendering
