Usage of AI on this project

I'm a bit wary of the continued use of this project due to the usage of AI as indicated by the various AI specific files like CLAUDE.md.

Personal reasons, ethics and legal issues aside, I'd like to know in what ways AI tools are used here, how much of the code is impacted by it, and whenever its output is reviewed properly by the maintainers before it is applied.

I can't speak for the author(s) but having digged deeply into the codebase, the code to me is very well crafted. The authors have demonstrated they understand their codebase inside and out.

If AI was used to generate parts of it, I'm sure it has been thoroughly reviewed. I haven't noticed any typical AI "smells", therefore I have no concerns.

At the time of the original implementation of this library, there was no coding agent yet, and I implemented most of it on my own.

This library has been highly optimized, which is still difficult with the current AI. Therefore, we maintainers have a deep understanding of the code base and review it each time.
