hostname generation in upper case

Hostname is getting generated in uppercase and this is affecting hosts metrics, where metricbeat hosts list and metrics generated from java agent mismatch and not getting correlated,

eg. hostname from apm-agent-java -> APPSRV2
metricbeat -> appsrv2

not sure which is standard

What version of the Java agent are you using?

1.54.0 elastic-apm-agent for java ,
ELK stack : 9.2.0, (kibana, elastic, logstash)
Fleet Agent : 9.2.0
Elastic APM : v9.2.0

the agent definitely sends hostname in lowercase, so that's not where the uppercase same from. you can see if you go to the service inventory, select the service, then go to the metrics tab. We'll look at other possible causes
