Couldn't get this to work for either me or my friends, in singleplayer, LAN or a server #17

my friends are all on windows for all that i know and it didnt work for them at all either
what i've tried, mostly in order:
this mod and everything else in the modpack, including TalkBubbles (transcript works on my end but doesnt translate or show up to others, bubbles don't show up)
removing talkbubbles (same thing)
using only this mod and dependencies (same thing)
installing the TalkBalloons mod which i read that it was compatible with this (nope, and it breaks the transcription tab when i join a world, the browser tab would say that it stopped and when i hit F5, the thing that says "Transcript (language)" just said "Transcript" and didnt transcribe shit)
installing and hosting my own libretranslate instance (i dont even know if the mod even used my local instance at all, but the instance did work believe it or not, that was actually very cool)
downgrading the mod version (nope)
upgrading the mod version to the one found in the actions tab (half of them crash the game when entering a world, half of them crash the game on startup)
testing all of the above on the dedicated server we're playing, and again by myself on a LAN server (nope, and the transcription doesnt work if you have two of the browser tab for two minecraft instances, which i guess is fair)
PLEASE if you can provide even a build that we can get it to work, youd be a godsend for all like, 5 of us that would use it
