iOS/Android PWA mic turning off in the background

Describe the bug

As soon as I leave the app running in the background, the mic immediately turns off (iOS) or turns off after a few seconds (Android). I noticed this bug when my friend and I were testing sable voice calls.

Reproduction

1. Join a voice call on PWA (iOS and Android) or Browser Tab (Android)
2. Leave app (dont close the app, just leave it running in the background)
3. On iPhone there will be a mute sound that will play when you close the app or the microphone indicator will disappear. On Android, the mic indicator will stay on for a few seconds then it will eventually cut off the mic.

Expected behavior

Microphone should continue to stay on in the background whilst in calls.

1. iPhone 13 (iOS 26.3.1), Samsung Galaxy A11 (LineageOS Android 14 GSI)
2. Safari (iOS), Brave (Android)

So far on android, I have not found any solution at all but on iOS, the solution I found is by using sable through safari it allows for the mic to not disable itself when leaving it running in the background unlike with the iOS PWA.
